Del Mar is a beautiful seaside community with dramatic views from
the hillsides. Home prices range from $1M and up for small beach type
cottages. We have a saying that anything under $1M in Del Mar is something
you knock down with a bulldozer and start over. It's a very small town
atmosphere, with a charming downtown of galleries, fashion shops, and
cafes.
In the 1930s, Bing Crosby and Pat O'Brien opened the Del Mar Racetrack, which
today draws thousands during horse racing season. The Del Mar Fair is held
every summer here as well, and is the biggest fair in the county.
