San Marcos CA Real Estate
San Marcos, home to California State University at San Marcos and Palomar
Community College, is in the midst of a building boom. New shopping
centers and restaurants are popping up everywhere, and the Edwards 18
Theaters is one of the best places to see movies in the north county.
The area near highway 78 is the older section of town, and the only thing
most people see that just drive through on the highway. But there are
major new communities taking shape away from the highway.
On the north side of town is the new Santa Fe Hills community, with new
schools and recreation centers, and Discovery Hills is on the south side.
In the very southern part of the city, a brand new town is taking shape called
San Elijo Hills. This master-planned community borders Carlsbad, and is higher priced than other parts of
San Marcos. The views are great, there are new schools in the area.

On the south side of town, Discovery Hills is growing up around the beautiful
Discovery Lake, where you can fish, walk the scenic trails, or hike to the
top of Double Peak for 360-degree views. |
| Here's a typical home in Discovery Hills. This home
is 1734 square feet, built in 1990, has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths,
priced around $600K. |
